Jet Fan Replacement and Mechanical Ventilation & Damper Support

This project involved the mechanical removal and replacement support of a jet fan assembly within an industrial ventilation environment. The existing unit had developed mechanical reliability concerns, including vibration and support-related issues, and the client needed a structured replacement and installation support solution.

The objective was to support the removal of the existing unit, review mounting and support conditions, and assist with the mechanical side of reinstatement.

Site / Application

The equipment formed part of a mechanical ventilation system where airflow performance, safe support and reliable operation were critical. The work environment required controlled access, coordinated handling and close attention to support integrity.

Scope of Work

The project : included

  • Existing jet fan removal support
  • Mechanical inspection of mounting arrangement
  • Support frame condition review
  • Replacement preparation
  • Reinstallation support
  • Mechanical checks following installation
  • Vibration-related review

Challenges

The main challenges involved access, safe handling, support condition and making sure the replacement work did not create future mechanical instability. The client needed a practical and controlled mechanical approach rather than a simple remove-and-replace job.

Work Completed

Mechanical support was provided during the removal and replacement process, with attention given to support condition, alignment and serviceability. This helped ensure the replacement installation was not only completed, but completed in a mechanically sound way.

Outcome

The replacement work was supported with a stronger focus on mechanical integrity, improving confidence in the installed unit and reducing the chance of recurring vibration or support issues.
